September 22, 2021

We’re delighted to announce that Dream The Change’s Co-Founder has been accepted onto a national programme to grow our Community Interest Company further.

Jemal Allabayeva will be joining the Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland Social Entrepreneurs Trade Up Programme at the School of Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) after getting through a 3-stage assessment process.

She was very excited to read the organisers email which said, “I am delighted to inform you that following the assessment process, you have been selected for the Lloyds Bank and Bank of Scotland School of Entrepreneus Trade Up Programme at SSE.

“Congratulations! We look forward to getting to know you and learn more about your project/organisation during this programme.”

It means that Dream the Change, CIC will be entitled to an up to £4,000 Trade Back grant through the Programme, as well as free learning, inclusion in a support network and a mentor.

Jemal said, “I am absolutely thrilled to have been given a place on the programme. Places are limited and lots of social entrepreneurs apply.”

“I’ll hopefully gain additional skills to help to grow Dream The Change, CIC for the benefit of the families from diverse backgrounds and their children with special educational needs and disabilities, whom we already support.”

Jemal will be travelling to SSE’s offices at Tolley Street, London, for the sessions, and complete further learning online.

SSE encourages applications from social entrepreneurs from a variety of backgrounds but seek those who have a desire to change things for the better in their communities, especially those who face systemic barriers. Jemal and Dream The Change, CIC fitted their bill.

The programme is unlike any other as there are no examinations or textbooks  like in traditional academic establishments, students learn from each other’s experiences, they build networks and have learning facilitators who challenge their ideas.
