Ninety-one Per Cent of Those who Use Our Services Are “Extremely Satisfied”

January 24, 2022

Families associated with Dream The Change, CIC (DTC) are very happy with the services we provide, according to our recent survey.

Our trustees decided to conduct a survey among the beneficiaries of our Community Interest Company and were thrilled to discover that 91per cent of the families from diverse backgrounds with children with special needs (SEND) who benefit from our support, said they are "extremely satisfied" with our work.

“To mark our second anniversary, DTC decided to conduct a survey, to check that those who benefit from our services are happy with what we are doing. We are thrilled with their responses. The replies will help us to plan our agenda for 2022,” said Jemal A., Co-Founder and Director of DTC.

"We are delighted that 11 out of 12 families who benefit from our services and attend our events or training are “extremely satisfied” with the work we do. We can show the results of the survey to our funders and sponsors to demonstrate to them how their donations and grants are being used in a worthwhile way. They will also help us with future grant applications."

The research was conducted to help us to:

  • Understand the relationship between our beneficiaries and DTC,

  • Assess the beneficiaries’ evaluation of DTC,

  • Measure the impact of DTC on the beneficiaries.

  • Profile the beneficiaries of DTC.

A total of 12 families completed our survey and 11 of them reported that DTC has had a positive impact on the well being of their family and that they are made to feel welcome.

We were also delighted to discover that 91 per cent of those who replied felt that DTC provides services that no other organisation in their area provides.

Also 66 per cent of the 12 families who completed our recent survey, said they would continue using our services for the next 5 years.

Highly engaged

The people who use DTC’s services appear to be highly engaged with all that we do. A total of 50 per cent have been involved for longer than one year, 33 per cent said they had been involved for six to 12 months and 16 per cent for three to six months.

Most of the families involved with us had heard about us originally by word of mouth and 75 per cent stay in touch with us weekly. The main ways that people stay in touch with us are email (9 out of 12), telephone (8), events (8) and via our WhatsApp Group (7).

DTC’s trustees were excited to hear that our most popular activities are our outings and social events, with 75 per cent of respondents saying they have attended and were “satisfied” with them.

Also 66 per cent of our beneficiaries have attended our After School Sports Club/ or School Holiday Sports Club and at least 50 per cent have been “satisfied” with them.

Our Parent Tea Sessions and Workshops and Training also saw 6 out of 12 families finding them satisfactory.

We had 15 responses to the question, “What are the special educational needs of your child?” The answers were: Autism/ ASD (9); ADHD (5) and other (1).

From our survey, we also discovered that 58 per cent of the 12 families who participated have children who attend special schools, 33 per cent had offspring in mainstream schools and one parents gave no response because their child was either too young for school or they taught them at home.

The other interesting facts that we learnt about the families involved with DTC were that 58 per cent have two adults in their household and just 25 per live in households of 5 to 7 people. Seventy-five per cent were of four people or less.
